Today we are having Tuakana Teina with room 4 and 5 for the whole day, if you don't know what Tuakana Teina is it is basically just spending time with your buddy class and doing fun things.

Today's Plan

Today we are starting the morning off by doing science for the whole block then we have morning tea and after that we are doing kiwi sports which I am very excited for, because we are doing boxing and I have done boxing before. When we do all of that we have lunch then we do maths then home time.

Natural Disasters - Earthquakes

The Kia Manawanui Syndicate is going to be focusing on Natural Disasters for Inquire.  

Today I will be talking about Earthquakes.

A natural disaster is a very harmful event. If you are not sure what a natural disaster is here are some examples: Tornados, Earthquakes, Landslides, Tsunamis etc and all of those natural disasters can damage heaps of houses, cars, roads, school and many more. 

Earthquakes are usually caused when rocks that are underground break along a crack. When two blocks of rock or two plates are rubbing against each other, they push against each other and the shaking is what causes a Earthquake to happen.

Earthquakes usually happen in countries that have a lot of oceans. Earthquakes can kill people, put people in hospital and do lots of damage to people's belongings such as cars, homes, schools, roads etc.

Good Morning! 

 Today is the first day back at school from the holiday's. I am not as tired as I thought I would be and I came early to school. 

I was very excited to see my friends again because I haven't seen them in 2 weeks. 

My First Blog Reflection For Term 3 2018

The holidays my school had was a 2 week holiday and in that 2 week holiday I didn't really do anything exciting but go out for my little sister's birthday and go to my friends house.

On Saturday 21st of July I was dropped off by my dad to my friends house, at her house we didn't really do anything besides go on our phones, computers and play music on her big speaker she had in her room. After we were hanging out my dad came to her house to pick me up at 5:00 pm because I asked my dad if he can take me to get my little sister a present for her birthday and he did.  

On some of the days I was on a call with my one of my friend, we have been friends for 9 years and on our calls we were just talking about how she is going at school and other personal things. I would say the longest we have stayed on a call in the holidays was 5 hours a 23 minutes. 

This term I am looking forward to the sports we are having because I love to play sports and playing sports is my passion.

Another thing I am also looking forward to this term is going to the museum because I don't go there often so I am excited to go.    

• Somethings I would love to improve on is maths, I am going to achieve this by asking for homework and practising my multiplication and my divisions. 
• I also want to Improve on having a growth mindset towards myself when I'm doing something, and I can try accomplish this by never giving up, trying again when I fail something and to try  my best.
• Another thing I would like to improve on is my blogging because I feel like I don't blog as much as I should be blogging, I am going to do this by trying my best to blog at least 2 or 3 times a day.

School

So as yous might know school is tomorrow, To be very honest i'm not looking forward to going back to school because I have enjoyed the holiday so much and I also am excited to see my friends tomorrow. Tomorrow I think I might be late for school and tired because most of the day because most of the days of the holiday I stayed up till 11:00 am and later than that. So I am going to try my best to go sleep early. 

Birthday

Today is my sister Lynch's birthday she will be turning 8. For her birthday I got her a colouring book and some colouring felts. My mum and dad took her shopping while me and me other sisters were our cousins house. After my parents took my sister shopping they came and got us at your cousin's then we went to get a cake, the cake we had was a chocolate cake it was very rich and it looked extremely nice. We got the people that work at the cake shop to write Happy Birthday Lynch in white chocolate icing. I did enjoy today even though we didn't really get to go out but my mum is going to make us a very yum dinner so I am excited for that.   

After School

After school today was a very sad time for me and some of my friends because if you have seen my other blogs, 2 of my friends are leaving. It was sad because we were just having an assembly then the band at our school sang a song dedicated to Lizzy, Taonga and their brother Gus the song they sang was called Hold On, when they started singing I had tears coming down from my eyes, my friend Monita was next to me and when she saw me crying then she started crying. So yeah I am very sad that they were leaving our school. But something I did like was them allowing me to write my name on their top so that they won't forget me.

Today......

Today we are going to be blogging and packing up the whole class and in the afternoon we will be having a whole school assembly.

Visual Arts

This is my Visual Arts I drew and coloured I hope you like it!

I drew a picture of day and night with some cultural patterns. I drew day and night
because I thought it would be easy and it would look nice and I think it does now
that i’m done colouring in. The Earth, Sun, Moon and Stars represent what we have
been learning about and the patterns on the Sun  side represent my culture which is
Maori and Samoan. Something I found challenging was colouring in everything and
thinking of what I was going to draw, it was challenging colouring in everything
because the was a lot colour and I also found thinking of what I was going to draw
hard because I didn’t have a plan of what I was gonna drawing. If I had the chance
to do this again I would change some of the colours. I think the colour scheme
worked well because it made my work brighter and people can see what I drew.
Somethings that went well with my drawing were the idea I had of the Earth, Sun,
Moon and Stars. The key concept(s) I leant was that Visual Arts might look very
difficult but when you carry on doing it, it isn’t as hard as it looks.

Ako Evening

Yesterday was Ako Evening and we were very busy. In the morning we went to technology then when we got back we just finished off some work in the afternoon we started setting up for Ako Evening. When everyone finished their work and setting up some of the class went to other classes and some of the kids room other classes came into our class room 10 and 9. The people that presented first were the last to go visit other classes to get information about what they learnt. Ako Evening is a time were you can bring your family and show them what you have done. Even though I was getting stressed out I did enjoy the day.

Good Morning, Today is the last day of term 2 for Tamaki Primary. I am very excited but not that much because I won't be seeing my friends for a while and 2 of my friends Lizzy and Taonga are sisters and they are going to another school and we will miss them a lot but I hope they make good new friends at their new school. I wish them all the best at their new school, house and area they are living in.

Yesterday

Yesterday me and my group we recording for our topic which is the Milky Way. In my group is Akanesi, Kensington  and Constance but Constance didn't record with us because she wasn't here. We are trying to get the recording done so that we can start editing, as we were recording we did make some mistakes but we managed to get some of the recording done. I'm so excited to see the final video when we finish editing.

Today is my sister Deandra's birthday today she is turning 16 and for her birthday she is going school and my dad is gonna take her out. On Tuesday I made her a card with a long paragraph and a big rose because she likes drawing roses. I hope she has a awesome birthday and I wish her all the best!
